First of all A Big Thanks to Glenn for mowing the runway, and organizing this Fun Fly.
It was just a great day to fly. Glenn got everything going in a timely fashion, and after the pilots meeting we were off and flying. First was the timed flight, the closest to 3 minutes from wheels up to wheels down. (Now we know internal clocks ain't all equal) Times ranged from 1 mi 30sec to more than 4 minutes, but Josh came in at 3 min. 6 sec. (way to go Josh) Next was the landing zone competition, each pilot got three landing, the runway was marked with different point zones. (Guys the key here is to land on the runway) Chris set a good example right off the bat, with 3 perfect landings. (good job Chris) And to the rest of you, at least no one was hurt! Then came the bomb drop, the object here was to drop a piece of wood on a target from a cup attached to your airplane. (sounds simple) Craig how many do-overs do you need? And Chris, when you drop the bomb watch the airplane not the bomb (that second boom was the plane). But Danny came thru and hit the bull’s-eye (he said he was good but I think it was luck). Last was the Balloon Pop, just hit a balloon 3 feet off the ground and pop it. Needless to say, for the people there, we need practice!
This Fun Fly was with out a doubt a big success. Fun was had by all.

Another beautiful Sunday afternoon, and lots of airplanes to fly.
Sign in time was 1:30pm and most of the pilots made it. (Rick) After a few warm up flights we were ready to go.
Your time started when you crossed the zero line, taxiing to the take off line. Then off you go. (if you could clear the grass) Once you're airborn, (if you didn’t lose your bomb on take off) you tryied to drop your bomb in the center of the target. (yeah right) Next, on to the Balloon Pop, also known as the cartwheel contest. (Glenn, watch that tent) If you are still able, try and make a carrier landing, but don’t kill your engine, you have to taxi back to the zero line. (did any one see that blue bear hit the carrier pole?) Oh! and by the way, the shortest time gets more points.
I would like to report that all planes made it back to the hanger in good shape, but there was one fatality. (Bill, next time pull up.)
And the winners are:
1. Josh (Lucky Dog)
2. Jeff (That last round did the trick)
3. Mike (That blue Bear done Good)
